Tour du Mont Blanc: Impressions on 35mm

In July 2022 I completed a 150km, 11 day trek through France, Italy and Switzerland. Accompanied by a friend, we embarked on a huge adventure of hiking and photography. In addition to my (new) digital camera, I decided to take with me my little Olympus Mju I and several rolls of Kodak Portra 400. I love shooting on both digital and film, usually used for different situations. Film is more of my go-to during the day for high contrast light, as the colours are naturally softened and the harshness reduced.

Unfortunately on day two the battery ran out, as I had forgotten to replace it before we left. It wasn’ until day 8 that I was able to find a replacement battery in Switzerland, meaning most of the trek was then shot on digital. However I am so glad that I found a battery when I did, as I was able to shoot some of my favourite locations from the hike on film.
